Welcome!

Welcome to my young adult book profiles blog!

I created this as an honors option project for my TE 302 class. During this semester, we read Pendragon: The Merchant of Death by D.J. MacHale and worked one-on-one with a middle school student to help them learn literacy strategies. I greatly enjoyed this part of the course and decided to do the same for some other young adult series that I enjoyed and are about the same reading level.

For each of the books profiled on this blog, there will be the following:
-A home page with a picture of the book and a brief description of it
-Summaries of sections of the book (this could be individual chapters, sections within the book, or splits I created) that includes:
-A brief summary of the section
  -New characters introduced
  -Passages I thought were important
-Literacy strategies I would recommend using
-Discussion topics related to the section
  -Questions related to the section
-An "Extra" page that includes:
  -Proposed text sets
  -Provocative pictures
  -Non-Fiction texts
  -Discussion topics
  -"Fat Questions"

I hope that whoever sees this finds it interesting and maybe even a little bit useful. Happy reading!
