Part 2 (a): "Hotel California, Sort Of" Summary
Pages 39-106
Summary:
Max, Fang, and Nudge set out to rescue Angel, leaving Iggy and Gazzy at home. While traveling, Max sees a girl in trouble and leaves Fang and Nudge to help her. In the process, Max gets shot in the shoulder and is forced to get help from the girl, Ella, and Ella’s mother. Fang and Nudge fly ahead and make camp on a cliff just above Lake Mead and wait for Max. Back at the house, Iggy and Gazzy make preparation (i.e., bombs) to protect the house when the Erasers come back. After a few well-placed booby traps catch the Erasers, Iggy and Gazzy head to an old cabin to wait for them to leave but end up surrounded by Erasers. Meanwhile, Angel is being put through a series of grueling tests at the School, conducted by scientists that are all too excited to get their hands on “Subject Eleven.”
